The explosive Paralyzed, featuring famous rapper PsychoYP and produced by GT Beats, is the first song from Abuja-based Jess ETA’s sophomore record ‘Playing with Fire.’ The restless musician blows apart his sonic template on his latest single, culminating in a zonked-out slapper with significant vocal pitch modulations.
The afro-pop tune, produced by Psycho YP, is a gripping track in which they discuss the uncertainty of a relationship yet find solace in their muse that they get immobilized. The track alluded to the intimate tone that “Playing with Fire” will have.
Buju, Azanti, and Gemini Major are featured on the new album, which will be released on May 6th, and a complete tour of Nigeria will begin in late April. This summer, Jess will play at the Trace Made in Africa event in Portugal.
JESS ETA’S BACKGROUND
Jess ETA is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer who creates a “afro and R&B fruit blend,” as he describes it. His music is described as ranging from soothing to energizing. He launched his EP “Balance” in 2020, which has received over a million streams since then.
He is the most recent winner of the Audiomack x Afrochella Rising Star Challenge, for which his hit single with Buju and Inci titled “Body on Fire” was the winning entry. Body on Fire had its general release in April 2021 and has since gone on to garner over a million streams. Jess is currently working on his EP which he plans to release in May 6th 2022
