Beyonce born on September 4, 1981, she is an American actress and singer. As a young girl, Beyoncé participated in a number of singing and dancing competitions. As the main singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the most successful girl groups of all time, she gained notoriety in the late 1990s. Beyonce Giselle Knowles[a] was born on 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas, to Mathew Knowles, a sales director for Xerox, and Celestine “Tina” Knowles (née Beyonce), a stylist and salon wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. Tina is a Louisiana Creole and Mathew is an African American. Solange Knowles, Beyoncé’s younger sister, is a singer and an ex backup dancer for Destiny’s Child. Lumas Beyonce and Agnez Dereon, granddaughters of Odilia Broussard and Eugene DeRouen, were New Iberia-born Louisiana Creoles who spoke French. They were Beyoncé’s maternal grandparents.

Beyoncé is descended from numerous French nobility from the southwest of France through her mother, notably the Viscounts de Béarn line, which dates back to the ninth century, and the Viscounts de Belzunce. She is also descended from Acadian leader Joseph Broussard and French aristocrat Jean-Vincent d’Abbadie de Saint-Castin, who fought alongside the local Abenaki against the British in Acadia. Marie-Françoise Trahan, her fourth great-grandmother, was born in Bangor, Belle Île, France, in 1774. Trahan was a descendant of Acadians who sought shelter on Belle Île following their deportation by the British. The estates of Belle Île had been distributed among 78 other Acadian families and the established citizens by the Estates of Brittany.
 
Before moving to Louisiana, where she wed a Broussard ancestor, the Trahan family spent more than 10 years in Belle Isle.
