David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, has announced plans to contribute N20 million to 20 small business owners.
On Wednesday, the Afro-pop artist announced it on Twitter, inviting company owners to submit him their ideas.
“Nigeria is going through a tough time right now. On Friday, we’ll award N20 million to 20 people. Send in your business or startup concepts. “I’ll be tweeting more details soon,” he said.
“Government has failed,” Davido said. Now is the time for us to assist one another.”
The musician previously expressed his dissatisfaction with the country in a tweet, writing, “Naija don cast totally.”
This comes after the musician faced backlash on Twitter after complaining about the high expense of clearing his Lamborghini at the Nigerian port.
As he bemoaned the amount he had to pay for the clearance, Davido asked for prayers for the country.
“You have no idea how much I just paid to get my Lambo cleared.” He tweeted early Wednesday, “Pray for Nigeria…Jesus.”
“It seems you came to this world to purchase a car, you’ll gather Africa money through streaming and events, then go abroad to spend it with cars,” said @classicremmy in response to Davido’s post.
The user also suggested the singer to stop whining and find a solution to help the country’s employment situation.
