The actor, 51, was injured on Sunday while shovelling snow close to Reno, Nevada, and was flown to a local hospital, according to a statement from Renner’s agent, which was later confirmed by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday evening.

According to his representative, Jeremy Renner underwent surgery on Monday and was in intensive care.

The actor’s representative said on Monday that Renner had undergone surgery due to “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic damage.”

Around 9 a.m. local time (12 p.m. ET) on Sunday, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office reported that it had responded to a report of a traumatic injury on Mount Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.

Renner was reportedly the only victim of injury.

The event is being investigated, according to the office’s Major Accident Investigative Committee.

It was unclear precisely where he had been harmed. Nevada is where Renner owns a residence, according to The Associated Press.

He shared a picture of a snowcat vehicle, which is utilized in icy circumstances, on Instagram in 2015. It was unclear right away if the car was a part of the incident on Sunday.

Renner is well-known for his appearance in the Marvel Avengers as Hawkeye. Additionally, he has received two Oscar nominations for his roles in “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town.”

According to Renner’s representative, his family wished to thank all of his medical professionals, including his physicians, nurses, and emergency personnel, on Monday.
