Anyone who wants to prevent Atiku from realizing his political ambition should first become Nigeria’s president, according to Atiku.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for president, has compared himself to an elephant and asserted that the PDP’s G-5 governors cannot catch him off guard.
He claimed that he is an old elephant who has seen everything and that the angry governors cannot surprise him. The former vice president added that he was unconcerned about plans by the G-5 governors, a group of five disgruntled governors, to support particular presidential contenders.
Phrank Shaibu, Atiku’s Special Assistant for Public Communication, delivered the following statement on his behalf: any person boasting of having such powers to stop his presidential bid, should first make himself president.
“Atiku will be president,” he declared. The sun must rise whether the cock crows or not. No individual has the right to claim the omnipotence of God Almighty as his own. Anyone who can claim to have stopped Atiku ought to first become president of Nigeria.
“Atiku is an elephant. Even when an elephant walks on thorns, it does not limp. And when you have seen a snake, it cannot bite you anymore. In this case, we have seen the snake, how can we be taken by surprise?”
