Wizkid, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, was nominated in two categories at the event: Best Global Music Performance and Best Global Music Album. On the night, he was defeated by Pakistani performer Aroof Aftab, who won for his pioneering track, ‘Mohabbat.’
Angelique Kidjo, Femi Kuti, and Burna Boy were among the other candidates.
The soundtrack was ‘Mohabbat.’
Wizkid was considered the frontrunner for the category when nominations were announced, owing to the fact that he had the most popular song in the category.
