A 34-year-old musician shared on his Instagram account on Friday how his excessive use of ice, cigarettes, and prescription medication nearly cost him his life. Joshua Iniyezo, a Nigerian artist better known by his stage name Solidstar, has shared how his addiction to hard narcotics almost caused him to overdose. He also asked his followers to stop using such medicines.

Because of ice, drugs, and cigarettes, I nearly died. Put an end to your drug use. Smoke Igbo if you can’t seem to stop them all, he said.

He asserted that he realized after the incident that there is tiny line separating life and death. Solidstar described in 2019 how he was offered a 2nd  chance after suffering the terrible consequences of drug misuse.

My fragility was demonstrated in the episode some few days ago by the excess that caused me to bleed.

I apologize sincerely to everyone I may have offended. The nicest and most gradual method of suicide, he wrote, is love. The distinction between life and death is razor-thin.
