According to reports, the Duke of Sussex has said that his brother physically attacked him in response to the younger prince’s marriage to Meghan Markle.
The Prince of Wales allegedly grabbed Prince Harry by the collar, ripped off his necklace, and then knocked him to the ground during the altercation at their London house in 2019. Prince Harry claimed the incident left him with a visible damage to his back.
The American actress was described as “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive,” according to Harry, who also said William repeated “the press narrative” against his wife.
The “extraordinary scene” is “one of many in Spare,” which is scheduled to be released on January 10 according to a newspaper.
Despite “strict pre-launch security around the book,” the newspaper said it was able to secure a copy of the book.
According to Harry, his older brother had wanted to talk about “the whole rolling catastrophe” of their relationship and issues with the media, the piece continues.
However, the Prince of Wales was already “piping hot” when William arrived at Nottingham Cottage, where Harry was then residing on the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Our source adds that after William complained about Meghan, Harry writes that he told him he was only repeating what the media was saying and that he expected better.
“But William, Harry says, was not being rational, leading to the two men shouting over each other.
“Harry then accused his brother of acting like an heir, unable to understand why his younger brother was not content to be a spare.”
The two men then insulted each other until William claimed he was attempting to assist. Harry thought this claim to be improbable and told his brother about it, which infuriated William.
Harry claims that the Prince of Wales frightened him by swearing and advancing.
“(William) called me another name, then came at me.” he writes, ” It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Harry claims that William pushed him to respond violently but he resisted. However, the older brother quickly expressed regret.
Then, after warning Harry not to tell Meghan about the altercation, William said to Harry, “I didn’t attack you, Harold,” to which Harry replied, “You mean you attacked me?”
Although his wife had spotted “scrapes and bruises” on his back, Harry claimed he did not immediately notify her.
The duke is said to go into further detail on the meaning of the book’s title, Spare, earlier in the memoir. He narrates what the King told Diana, Princess of Wales, on the day of his birth.
Harry believes that the then-Princess of Wales heard his father say, “Wonderful! My work is finished because you’ve now given me an heir and a spare.
Following the release of a teaser trailer from an ITV interview in which Harry stated that he wants his father and brother back, the duke made astounding allegations in his book.
