Young Jonn, an Afrobeats singer-songwriter and producer, has been chosen Apple Music’s Up Next artist in Nigeria.
The new face of Apple Music’s Up Next is Chocolate, whose new ‘Love Is Not Enough’ EP is gaining traction on the streaming service. “Music has always been an outlet for me,” John Saviours Udomboso, better known as Young Jonn, said in an interview with Apple Music. I was only able to express myself because of my social anxiety difficulties by producing music for other artists such as Olamide, Tiwa Savage, and Kizz Daniel. It’s a huge honor for me to be recognized by Apple Music’s Up Next program for the music I’m producing and distributing as an artist. “I’m thrilled, and I can’t wait to share even more with my followers,” he says.
Young Jonn “The Wicked Producer” was born and reared in Ibadan before going to Lagos to pursue his musical dreams. He is the man behind big successes like Kizz Daniel’s “Mama,” Mayorkun’s “True,” and Olamide’s “Wo!!,” “Bobo,” “Science Student,” and many more.
With the release of his single “Dada,” his debut under the label Chocolate City Music, he transitioned from critically renowned producer to Afrobeats performer. The producer was repositioned as a vocal force ready to take on the industry as a result of this. Over five warm, groove-filled tunes, his hypnotic first EP, Love is not Enough, available to stream on Apple Music, underscores this reality.
Young Jonn will be featured on Apple Music’s Up Next playlist as the newest Up Next act to be spotlighted in Nigeria. The Up Next playlist is produced by Apple Music editors from around the world and contains a diverse group of new and upcoming artists. The playlist is genre-neutral and features a lineup of artists who Apple Music’s worldwide editors are excited to share with a wider audience.
T.I. Blaze, Browny Pondis, Ajebo Hustlers, Jaido P, Wavy The Creator, and SGaWD are among Apple Music’s growing stable of Nigerian Up Next Artists.
