Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi’s colleagues have turned to the public for financial help in treating her ailment.
Toyin Abraham and Mercy Aigbe, both actresses, rushed to Instagram to ask for help for Afolabi, stating that a Gofundme account had been set up to help with her treatment.
According to NaijaPress, Afolabi disclosed in an interview with Chude Jideonwo that she had been diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune condition.
She also revealed in the interview that she only had five years to live owing to her sickness.
Afolabi said she spent N1.2 million a week on medication to manage her sickness, and that she had sold her cars, house, and business to pay for it.
She went on to say that colleagues like Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, and Mercy Aigbe had backed her up.
Abraham encouraged her supporters to donate to Afolabi by posting a video of the interview on social media.
“Please fam, if you noticed, I stopped doing this a long time ago, but I have to do this for my buddy, sister, and coworker.” Please donate to us by using the GoFundMe link in my bio or the Nigeria account listed below.
Abraham wrote, “0691762305- GTB AFOLABI OLUWAKEMI.”
“Hello everyone, we need your help, Kemi needs your help and support,” Aigbe said in the video. @kemiafolabiadesipe is a very good friend, sister, and coworker of mine. Please help us out by hitting the link in my bio to donate to our Go Fund Me account, or you can use the Nigeria account below.”
