On Wednesday in Jos, DSP Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state’s Police Command, affirmed the incidence to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Alabo claimed that on Tuesday night, the assailants broke into the neighborhood and began firing randomly.

9 members from one family were among the several people massacred by gunmen that assaulted the Maikatako Community in the Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of the Plateau.

The PPRO stated that men from the command had been dispatched to the village to maintain peace and pledged to provide more information about the incident. Although we are in control of the situation and our troops are currently pursuing the attackers, the specifics of the incident are still unclear, he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mahanan Job, a local, informed NAN that thus far, 18 bodies have been found during the community’s search and rescue operations. Despite the deployment of military and police officers, Job claims that there is significant tension in the neighborhood.
