According to police, a 16-year-old kid has been detained on suspicion of killing after one 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed outside of a Huddersfield school.
On Wednesday afternoon, the kid was attacked outside the entry to North Huddersfield Trust School. On Thursday, just before 5:00 BST, the 16-year-old was taken into custody at a residence in the town, according to West Yorkshire Police. He is still being held, and investigations are continuing. At around 14:55 BST on Wednesday, officers were summoned to the site on Woodhouse Hill in the Fartown neighborhood. The adolescent was brought to Leeds General Infirmary, where he passed very soon after.
The 15-year-old is a student at North Huddersfield Trust School, according to Andrew Fell, the headteacher.
He stated that after being closed until 10:30, the school would reopen to provide assistance to students until 14:00.
Our warmest condolences extend to the pupil’s friends and family who should feel, as we do, absolutely crushed, he added in a letter to parents. They had lost a loved one, and our school community has also lost a beautiful student. Afiya Mahmood, a neighboring resident who witnessed the stabbing’s aftermath and characterized it as extremely upsetting, Everyone is genuinely astonished, she remarked. He’s still only a kid, isn’t he?
I’m in disbelief that this was done in broad daylight at 3 o’clock with so many people present. They didn’t give a damn about the nearby folks or kids. It’s repulsive.
According to Ms. Mahmood, her children had to pass the scene on their way to a different school.
We actually had to lie with them and say that it was a vehicle accident since they’re under eight, she continued.
I can’t even begin to understand what the family has gone through, said Billy Shankland, whose child attends the school. Simply horrible. At such a young age, it is startling. Det Supt. Marc Bowes stated in a statement on Wednesday night: “We will be conducting in-depth investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this occurrence that led in the terribly terrible death of a young life.
Although we have previously found a number of eyewitnesses to the actual incident, we are still interested in hearing from anyone with information that can help with the investigation.
