The Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, constituted a seven-member conference committee on the bill prohibiting sexual harassment of students in tertiary institutions on Tuesday.
Members of the committee are anticipated to meet with their House of Representatives counterparts in order to reconcile the two versions of the measure passed by both chambers.
On July 7, 2020, the upper chamber passed a bill supported by Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, who represents Delta Central District.
Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti Central) was named as the committee’s Chairman.
Senators Betty Apiafi, Stella Oduah, Abubakar Kyari, Suleiman Umar, Suleiman Abdu Kwari, and Kola Balogun are among the other members.
